Two languages

Bilingual wedding invitations, in each guest’s own language

Half the family speaks Swiss German, the other half French, and your friends from abroad read English. With EverAfter you write one invitation and give each guest a language. Their link opens in it: your words, the schedule, the buttons and the reply form, in German, French, Italian or English.

The same invitation, in two languages

Here is the sample invitation in English and in German, as a guest receives it in each language. Same design, same day: only the words change.

English
German

You write the words, text by text

Write in your main language first. Then open each other language and add your translation beside every text: the welcome, your story, the names of your moments, travel tips, the questions of your reply form, the greeting for each group. A list shows what is still missing, and what needs another look after you changed the original.

What your guests read

Each guest gets the language you set for them. Everything the invitation says by itself, from the date and the headings to the reply buttons, comes in that language too, and so do the invitation email and the WhatsApp message. Where a translation is still missing, the guest reads your main-language text rather than an empty space.

Two languages, or all four

For many couples two are enough: German and French, Italian and German, or English for friends from abroad. Others need three or four. You only translate into the languages your guests read, and the languages screen tells you how many guests read each one.

Your language, too

Your main language is also the one EverAfter speaks to you, on every page where you prepare the invitation. If you would rather write in French after all, change it in the settings: the texts you have already written in other languages stay as they are.

Questions about bilingual invitations

Do you translate our texts automatically?

No, automatic translation is not included: you write each translation yourselves, or ask someone who speaks the language, so the words stay yours. EverAfter translates everything around them: headings, dates, buttons and the reply form.

Which languages can we use?

German, French, Italian and English, in any combination. Romansh and other languages are not available.

Can a guest see both languages at once?

No. Each guest reads the invitation in the one language you set for them. You can change it at any time, and their link then opens in the new language.

What if we have not translated everything yet?

Then the guest reads your main-language text wherever a translation is missing. Before you send, preview the invitation in each language to see exactly what each guest will read.
