Wedding invitations for ceremony, apéro and dinner guests

At a Swiss wedding, not everyone is invited to everything. Family comes to the ceremony, a wider circle joins for the apéro, and a smaller one stays for dinner. With EverAfter you write one invitation, sort your guests into groups and decide what each group sees. Nobody reads about a dinner they are not invited to.

The day through each group’s eyes

Choose a group to see the schedule its guests receive in the sample invitation. Family sees all four moments, apéro guests see the vows and the toast in the garden, and evening guests come for the dinner and the dancing.

Groups that fit your wedding

Name your groups as you like: family, colleagues, the football club, apéro guests, evening guests. Each guest belongs to one group. You can move several guests at once, filter your guest list by group, and find the group again in the export of the replies.

What changes from one group to the next

Every moment of the day can be shown to everyone or only to the groups you choose. So can whole sections, such as the dress code, places to stay or the reply form, and each question in your FAQ. Each group can also have its own welcome message, and any guest a greeting of their own.

Nothing to explain

Guests never see the name of their group, and moments meant for others are not in their invitation at all, not even in the calendar file they can download. Before you send, open the invitation as any of your guests and check exactly what they will read.

Plus-ones and children, guest by guest

Groups decide what a guest sees. How many people a guest may bring is set for each guest on their own: a partner for one, two children for another, nobody extra for a colleague. The reply form then asks each guest only for what you allowed.

Questions about guest groups

Can some guests be invited only to the apéro?

Yes. Put them in a group, show that group the ceremony and the apéro, and hide the dinner and the dancing. Their invitation and their calendar file only show what they are invited to.

Will guests notice that others see more?

Not from the invitation: it never shows group names, and hidden moments are left out entirely rather than greyed out. Each guest simply sees a complete day, their own.

Can we ask only some groups to reply?

Yes. Like any section, the reply form can be shown to some groups only, for example to the dinner guests who choose a meal, while apéro guests simply receive the invitation.

Can one guest differ from their group?

For the words, yes: any guest can have their own greeting and personal message instead of the group’s. What they see of the day follows their group, so for a different programme, give them a group of their own.
