Chapter by chapter

  1. 1. Create your account

Sign up with your name, your email address and a password, and you are in.

Step by step on the website

    1. On ever-after.ch, choose “Create account”.
    2. Enter your name, your email address and a password.
    3. Click “Create account”, and you are in.
    4. A few short steps then set up your wedding.
  2. 2. Set up your wedding in five steps

Your names, the date and venue, a design, your first guests, and a first look at your invitation.

Step by step on the website

    1. Five short steps set up your wedding. First your names, which fill in on the invitation as you type.
    2. The “Main language” is the one you write your invitation in. Then click “Continue”.
    3. Next, the date and the place: the “Wedding date”, the “Venue” and its address.
    4. A “Reply by” date tells your guests when to answer.
    5. Pick a design: each one shows your own names and date. You can change it, or make it your own, at any time.
    6. Add a few guests now, or bring your whole list later. Family groups are suggested from the last name.
    7. “Here’s your invitation”: it is ready to look at, and nothing is sent yet.
    8. Click “Go to your workspace”. Everything can still be changed there.
  3. 3. Write your invitation

Your welcome and your story, the practical details, answers to common questions, and who sees what.

Step by step on the website

    1. Open “Invitation”: your invitation is written in a few parts, and the preview on the right follows along.
    2. In “The essentials”, add the address so guests find the way, and a reply-by date.
    3. In “Welcome and story”, write your welcome and your story. Each part can be shown or hidden.
    4. In “Good to know”: how to get there, where to stay, what to wear.
    5. In “Who sees what”, choose the parts each group of guests sees.
    6. Everything saves as you type. Nothing is sent to anyone yet.
  4. 4. Choose a design and make it yours

Pick one of 20 designs, then change the photo, colours, typeface, layout and motion.

Step by step on the website

    1. In “Invitation”, open the “Design” tab and choose from 20 designs. Each one shows your own names and date.
    2. Try one on: guests only see a change once you publish it.
    3. Choose “Make it yours” to keep a design and change only what you like.
    4. Change the colours, the typeface, the layout and the decoration.
    5. Under “Motion”, choose how the invitation moves when a guest opens it.
  5. 5. Plan the day and your questions

Add each moment of the day, choose which groups see it, and ask about meals or anything else.

Step by step on the website

    1. Open “The day” to tell your guests what happens, and when.
    2. Start from the example with “Use the example schedule”, or add each moment yourself with “Add the first moment”.
    3. Choose who sees each moment. In the film, only the two families see the civil ceremony.
    4. Everyone else sees the apéro and the dinner.
    5. In “Invitation”, the “Questions” tab shows that the reply form already asks who is coming, plus-ones, children and dietary needs.
    6. “Ask about meals” adds a meal choice in one click. Or choose “Add a question” and ask anything you like.
    7. The preview shows the form exactly as guests will fill it in.
  6. 6. Add your guests

Add guests one by one or all at once, group families together and set who may bring someone.

Step by step on the website

    1. Open “Guests”: each guest gets their own invitation link.
    2. Click a guest to set their email, their language and who they may bring.
    3. “Add a guest” adds more at any time.
    4. Or choose “Import a list” and paste your whole list from a spreadsheet, one guest per line.
    5. Groups decide who sees what. “Show one group” shows one group at a time.
  7. 7. Offer your invitation in several languages

Write each text in your guests’ languages, with suggestions on the phone in the apps, so everyone reads it in their own.

Step by step on the website

    1. In “Invitation”, open the “Languages” tab. Guests read your invitation in their own language, and you write each one yourself.
    2. Pick a language. Each text shows your original and where it stands, such as “Missing” or “Needs a look”.
    3. Write the texts in that language. The preview shows them as those guests will read them.
    4. The other languages work the same way. Where a text is still missing, guests read your words in your main language.
  8. 8. Publish your invitation

Look at it as a guest would, get the wedding package and publish when you are ready.

Step by step on the website

    1. Ready? The “Overview” shows what is done, and what is left.
    2. Publishing needs the wedding package, once. Click “See the package”, then pay, or enter a code under “Have a code?” and click “Use code”.
    3. Click “Publish” to make the invitation live. Nothing is sent by itself.
    4. Published: your guests’ links now open the invitation.
  9. 9. Send the invitations

Send each guest their personal link by email, or share it by message, WhatsApp or a printed QR code.

Step by step on the website

    1. Now send each guest their personal link, from “Guests”.
    2. Send them all by email: each guest gets a short email in their language. Check who gets it, then send.
    3. No email? Click the guest and share their link yourself, by message or with their “QR code” on paper.
    4. Then click “Mark as shared”, so you know who has their link.
  10. 10. What your guests see

A guest opens the invitation, reads it in their language and replies in a few taps, without an app or an account.

Step by step on the website

    1. Your guest opens their personal link: no app, no account.
    2. They read the invitation in the language you chose for them. In the film, Sophie reads it in French.
    3. They see only the moments meant for them, the place, and what to know.
    4. Replying takes a minute: who comes with them, what they eat, and the questions you asked.
    5. They send their reply, and you see it right away.
  11. 11. Follow the replies

See who is coming, meals and dietary needs, remind those who have not replied, and export the list.

Step by step on the website

    1. Replies come in as your guests answer. The “Overview” tells you what needs you.
    2. Click “See all replies”: who is coming, with whom, and their answers.
    3. Dietary needs are there in their own words, with the answers to your questions.
    4. Guest by guest, you read the messages they wrote you.
    5. “Export for your caterer” gives you everything as a spreadsheet for your caterer or venue.
    6. Some guests haven’t answered? A few days after their email, remind them: a short, friendly email with your reply-by date. At most three, three days apart.
    7. You can follow who replies, right there.
  12. 12. Change your invitation after sending it

Edit as a draft, publish the changes when you are ready, and let your guests know by email.

Step by step on the website

    1. Plans change. Your invitation is already out, and you can still edit it: in the film, dinner starts half an hour later.
    2. Your changes are kept as a draft. Guests still see the published version.
    3. When you’re ready, review your changes and publish them.
    4. See exactly what changes. With “Let guests know their invitation changed”, your guests hear about it by email.
    5. Click “Publish changes”. Every personal link now shows the new version.
